Horn Residence - Winchester, KY

David and Jody Horn contacted us after they saw one of our TV commercials. They own a beautiful farm off Bybee Road outside of Winchester. David owns a successful engineering firm located inWinchesterand wanted to be actively involved with the construction of their own dream home.

They lived on the farm and like many of our clients were not sure if they should renovate their existing home or build a new home. We worked on a number of options for renovation of the old home and also construction of a new home. After reviewing the proposal and numbers they decided on the new home route.

They already had their floor plans and when we looked at them, it turned out that we just finished a home for Dan and Dawn Forry, located off Muir Station Roadoutside Lexington, that was very similiar to what they were going to build. We then arranged a walk thru of the Forrys beautiful home (Thanks Dan and Dawn!). David and Jody checked things out first hand. The Horn's dream home on their farm outsideWinchesterstarts with a 3,225 square foot full basement including a 3 car garage.The basement mechanical room houses the geothermal units that supply heat, AC and hot water for the house.

The first floor features a two story foyer with a winding staircase, a nice dining room, 530 square foot office, 2 story great room, vaulted 2 story family room with exposed rough beams, breakfast area, full kitchen with granite countertops, island and flush bar, dumb waiter servicing all floors, laundry room, two half baths, walk in pantry, desk and cabinet area off kitchen, guestroom/study, master bedroom suite with walk in closet, arched tile shower, whirlpool, dual vanities and separate area for the commode. The master bedroom features a multi layered trey ceiling. Off the master bedroom suite is a covered patio and off the breakfast room is another patio. Both of these overlook the in ground swimming pool in the back yard.

The second story features an open rail to the 2 story great room and the 2 story front entrance hall. There are 3 bedrooms and two baths, an office and a bonus room.

The exterior of the home is accented with a custom made limestone veneer and hardplank siding painted in a muted blue gray.
