AAA ByPass Storage – 27,000 SF Addition – Georgetown, KY

When Ed Bringardner went looking for a builder for his 27,000 sq ft storage facility addition he wanted a company with a good background in concrete construction and light commercial construction. AAA Bypass Storage is located off the US 62 Bypass and Quality Drive in Georgetown Kentucky.

This addition to the existing self storage facility included 25,000 cubic yards of mass excavation. In order to accommodate the 3 building structures without any steps in the buildings, the rock removal required extensive blasting with explosives. The 27,000 square foot of storage consists of pre-engineered steel buildings manufactured and erected by Betco. The total site was paved, lighted, and surrounded with security fencing.

We encountered a number of challenges during the project including finding numerous “sink holes” and “wet springs”. These were engineered so that future settling did not occur in the building structure or adjoining concrete paving. As you can see in the picture
(in the file folder there is a great picture of a D-8 bulldozer stuck in one of the sinkholes) this D-8 bulldozer had to be pulled out with 3 other bulldozers. If I stand next to this D-8 on level ground my head would be even with the step at the top of the tracks.

We also found that there was extensive rock that needed to be removed by blasting with explosives. You can see the before and after pictures of the blasting.

Piercefield Renovation – Lexington, KY

Hello my friends! We are featuring the renovation and addition to the Piercefield home which is conveniently located off Harrodsburg Road down the street from the Turfland Mall. The Piercefields really liked their home but wanted to have a nice dedicated master bedroom suite upstairs (which was just an attic) and then a new and functional kitchen for entertaining. CMA was selected as the perferred contractor to work with the Piercefields.
